Clifton woman's club delivers cozy blankets to area nursing home residents: The ongoing winter chill and mounds of snow might have kept the Woman's Club of Allwood (Clifton) from their monthly meetings, but it certainly didn't keep them from their commitment to PROJECT COZY. An initiative to "Knit, Crochet and Collect" Lap Blankets for local nursing homes, Project Cozy is just one of the Woman's Club's many "adventures in giving". With the help of members from the Clifton Library Knitting Club, the Woman's Club of Allwood was able to collect over two dozen hand-knitted lap blankets. This past Sunday, members from both organizations (pictured) were greeted by Chestnut Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff, June West and Annaliza Padilla. The handmade lap blankets were presented to residents of the center to keep them warm and cozy for months to come. The Chestnut Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 360 Chestnut Street, Passaic, houses over 100 residents year round. Their goal is "to ensure that residents maintain their independence for as long as possible".
